Packing Light

Take the full-size towel, not the bulky fold. A little less packing for whatever the day turns into.

A quick swim shouldn’t need a separate packing list. A Rag opens to a full 40 × 70 inches, then folds or rolls small enough to come along with the gear you’re already taking.

Fold it lengthwise into a strip that suits your bag. Roll from one end or fold again into a short bundle. It doesn’t need to look like a shop display; it needs to fit the bag and be easy to pull out.

Pack for your bag.

A flat fold can sit alongside the rest of your gear. A roll is easy to find when you reach in after a swim. Use whichever works with the bag you actually carry.

Keep it near the top if the water is your first stop. The point of a small fold isn’t to leave the towel behind—it’s to make taking one an easy decision.

Time to head home.

Shake off the sand, gather the cloth and tuck it away for the trip back. You can make a neat roll or just get it in the bag. Either way, the Rag comes home ready for its next outing.

Why take a Turkish towel traveling?

The useful part is the combination of open size and a compact fold. A Salt Rag gives you a full-size cotton beach towel when you reach the water, without a thick bundle taking over your bag. That makes it a practical option for a day trip, a weekend by the coast or a pool stop during a longer journey. Check the towel's dimensions alongside the space you have before packing.

Fold or roll: choose what fits your bag

Lay the towel flat and bring its edges together before folding it into a rectangle or rolling it into a bundle. A fold suits a flatter space; a roll can sit alongside the rest of your gear. The finished bundle depends on how tightly you fold it. Compare the open dimensions and your own bag rather than assuming a particular folded size.

Packing after a swim

Shake sand off before packing and give the cloth a chance to dry in the open air when you can. A Rag dries quickly, but humidity, airflow and how wet it is still matter. Keep a damp towel separate from items you want to keep dry, and take it out to air once you stop. Air it fully before putting it away for the next trip.

One towel, more than one stop

Use it after a swim, spread it out for a beach break or put it over your shoulders as a light wrap. Once you get home, the same cloth can be left over a chair rather than packed away until the next trip. Whether those uses suit you depends on the coverage and texture you like; a flat-woven towel is not a padded blanket or insulated outdoor layer.
